It is later revealed that Matsuura is the only person who knew the Landlady while she was alive, and that he only transports guests to the inn in order to see her. After serving his sentence for fraud, Atsushi runs into her and they date for some time, until a figure from Atsushi's past tries to blackmail him into doing illegal activities again.
