The father of Kotaro Ietani, the patriarch of the Ietani family, and one of the main characters of the manga.

Ichiro Ietani is a successful 45 year old salaryman who regrets never going to high school. To remedy this, he applies and gets in to Metropolitan Happee High School. He now is a student in class 1-3.

Ichiro is the husband of Shizuka, the father of Haruka and Kotaro, and the pet owner of Gomez.

He was the errand boy of the Volleyball Club, but in the recent chapters has become an official member of the team.
