One day before their middle school graduation, 3 shows him some gay AVs as a joke and calls gay people "gross". The day of their graduation, 2 confesses to him, but he, still feeling pressured, rejects 2 harshly—which he still regrets, years later. After coming across 2 accidentally, 1 confesses to him, but is rejected.
In an extra from Posi, he is in the same bar as the Messiah's Friend, and the two commisserate about having stood by and not acted until their chance had passed. He also regrets "acting straight" for years, before realizing that he is either gay or bi.
