Kurama is a Tengu Yokai who is a wildly popular idol with the gimmick of being a "fallen angel”. Kurama is very charismatic and due to his popularity, very arrogant and selfish as well. He’s very good at socializing with humans, especially with girls. Despite often being surrounded and swooned over by other people, deep inside he is a lonely person. He’s not the type to ask for help and he tries to take everything upon himself – according to Suirou.
He is the only son of Soujoubou, the third chief of the Tengu village. He was treated harshly during his childhood by Jiro due to not being able to fly. A tengu he cared for had lost his wings while trying to protect Kurama, and this was the final straw. Soon after the incident, Kurama had left the mountain. He has been living in the human world for 17 years.
At the beginning of the series he wished to become the land god instead of Nanami by eating her heart. After being thwarted by Tomoe, he changes his attitude toward Nanami. Later in the series, he becomes a good and reliable friend of hers.
