Hanabusa "Idol" Aidou

Hanabusa is an aristocratic vampire in the Night Class. He is very popular amongst the Day Class girl and has been given the nickname "Idol" by them. Along with his cousin Akatsuki, Hanabusa is known among the Night Class as "Kaname-sama's right hand," and he has a fierce admiration for Kaname. He can seem cheerful and friendly one moment, and cold and vindictive the next. Hanabusa is not fond of Yuuki, but he tolerates her because Kaname cares for her.
Hanabusa finds out early on that Zero is a vampire, but keeps quiet about it.
He is the only one to have witnessed Kaname kill Shizuka, but Hanabusa still looks up to Kaname and wants to lend Kaname his power to help find who killed Kaname's parents. Even though Kaname declined his offer so that Hanabusa wouldn't put himself in danger, Aidou is now researching behind Kaname's back in books and records to try to find who could possibly have been enemies of the Kuran's and to find Kaname's secrets.
After the Rido's attack at Cross Academy, Hanabusa decided to leave with Kaname and Yuuki, in order to assist with their return to the Kuran Manion. He becomes Yuuki's tutor during the one-year time skip, and during this period they seem to become acquainted with each other. Hanabusa also returns back to Cross Academy with Yuuki, in order to re-establish the Night Class again.
After Kaname had thrown his heart into the furnace, he freezes Kaname's body within an ice coffin. Hanabusa finds Kaname's research about turning vampires back into humans. He declares that he will complete Kaname's research and find a cure, which he successfully completes during his lifetime. Hanabusa also marries Sayori and has a child with her, Seiya Aidou.
