Ryou Nakama is a fan of gag manga, such as Gag Manga Biyori, Seikimatsu Leader Den Takeshi!, and Tottemo! Luckyman. He attended Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts but dropped out in 2012 in order to become a mangaka.
He is a childhood friend of mangaka Cota Tomimura from elementary school.
